The thing is we're human beings

With a much bigger spectrum of what's forgivable, what's not

If only we'd be a little more understanding

We'd see we're not that different for the rest of us

We've had our moral shortcomings,

Maybe we've even sinned

We've surely hurt the ones we love

As we could so has everyone else

The thing is we have weaknesses

Faults that can only harm

Though some of this hurt will never mend

A lot can be let go with "they're only human"
