A thing of beauty. 20231208.

Plant a lily in a clay pot. Watch it with care. It may even blossom Under the right air. Open up your heart But beware, you Can't make a flower talk Back if it doesn't want to.

Without despair 2. 20220530.

I have an angel for happiness The tough love, this-world-is-not-kind parent type In charge of reminding me I should be happy But wouldn't most of the time Because she knows I'll be an addict If I'm ever too long just happy Content, dreamy, isolated I'm likely to reject reality So only rarely I see her Amidst the clouds, family and friends, My silent guardian masquerading as Flowers, books, everyday things Aware, because I'm made to miss happiness I'll love it more when I find it next

Time with the sun. 20231217.

A window on my bedroom's right Its curtain, a measuring device Let's through a falling pillar of light
Another in the room, a river of smoke Chasing, silent, transparent strokes Until boldly colliding with the pillar, on its path home
I watch it thin as the sun goes down For all the minutes I've watched it drown Into the shadows, I'm worried now
I may yearn for the lost rays, More time with the sun, more time in a day, Its next visit will not be like today

Little worry. 20231013.

What I should have feared was Worry, When he told me he has my back All eighty of its hands wrapped around me As if I was under attack To anything that would come near He'd bare my teeth Only I would be the one to bear Wounds fighting rocks and trees

Judges for the mob. 20240122.

I don't know what's right or wrong. I suppose someone in this world does Or a lot of people do and they have built The chains that lead us. They have their reasons, Uglier than the truth, "This is how it is" they tell To the elephant in the room. Each an avatar of the whole Mob, each an authority alone Responsible for shaping the very world They claim has turned them into its clone. ... Imagine what it must be like for the police to patrol processions. A seat of power responsible for maintaining peace and calm, yet so afraid. Saw a few of them on the road today.

Scratches. 20240126

I see now we carry lightly Never knowing the weight of what we love Yet are shaken to finally see Despite the years worth of scratches, One that's deep enough.

How's life? 20231231.

Almost in the wild with each new shift, Met a few lives on the drift.
(Wore a shirt and tie to match shoe after shoe Said a few goodbyes, rhetorical how-do-you-dos.)
Shook a few hands on the hills and creaks, 'Round the fire on the sand, amid loud claps and beats.
(On squeaky office chairs, in heavy meeting halls On plastic grass grounds, in smoke and alcohol.)
Wonder when I tire where I'll be? Someplace in the wild that doesn't rush my feet.

Year end restless. 20221227.

Perhaps the final minute will think best to no more question The year may yet depart as it passed, in colorless quiet Like all his brothers, slow and fast, come since some age before him Or for worse, choose petulance to disagree with death.
Regardless, another year's athirst, restless.

Year end tally. 20231227.

I swear I fought hard as I reached for desires though small, Valued them more than the object itself That the journey too may live, the climb uphill Mean more than the peak, past even its thrill Only now at the year's end, counting down my checklist All I see are blank boxes, missing their own green ticks

All, everyday. 20231220.

Bikes and cars rush by An endless stream of wheels Often a truck mixed in the tide A bishop in the stampede Each in a struggle perhaps Not all their destinations reach One more bloodied in the same fight Is an insect crossing the street

Rules. 20231209.

I follow the rules. Even the ones I can not see. Without which I am told I'm invisible to society. I dot the i's and cross the t's, Read whatever's popular. Wear the color they tell I look good in But only until it doesn't feel like a collar.

Greedy problem. 20231107.

I'm weird that way, Only cause I know how it is with me I need my space, But I do enjoy your company I'm careful in how much I take Small doses have a safe history Only cause the math is fake For how much you can need anybody

Outside. 20231202.

I went outside to go outside, Forgetting the weight of the world That would make me hide inside Where I was comfortable For deep within an even bigger fear Won against the calm "Nothing stays," it says. "My dear Blink and it'll be gone."

Bookmarked. 20231117.

I looked at you and knew I could love, For it had been a while and I Worried that I no longer could.
But thanks again that we meet, Ate out, shared a burger, drove around the city Past the sun had set,
I got to see your boyish hair, And though the world was not the same, Though since it has been years,
It felt exactly as it did the first time I saw you. I looked at you and knew I could love, Before at last I forgot how to.

Prisoners each. 20221225.

Can you see your prison Staring through the clear crystal glass As you brush in morning Hoping you've pushed again life back
Can you see the prisoner His past screaming, scribbled on the walls Fingerprints where his desperation stuck Frozen loudly on the metal bars
Can you see the life sentence Every deal made for commutation compromised The noose ouroboros, yet undead hope, Inevitably demonized

Snowglobe. 20231118.

With each goodbye there is more weight in her hope For the few things held perfectly in a clear crystal globe. A garden of words without trees, a pond, A few green plants, you can not kill, Away from the world that will not wait for us And we who must keep chasing it.

Sponges. 20231004.

Some hearts are built from sponges, Quick to catch, to dry. Does this mean nothing sticks? Yes, but every time it's as if it's the first try.

Should I be tired? 20230918.

It's such a chore to seek out the truth, Could the job not have been easier? Must I bend, break my head, pull at that hangnail To find out the answer, Could it not have been written on the wall Or hardwired in this head like so many of my faults? Only now I have to survive this easy life Feed my low key desires, then take them out for a walk.

The Gatsbys. 20220727.

Some things you can't be honest about The ones you cannot uncomplicate Because if you breathe out the desired truth It's bound to slip away
Here we bear the confusion The unnecessary complexity Vacillating between two ends Perturbed but persistently
Poisoned by romance Some things we cannot accept We believe with a mad hope, to a fault, In all things dead
Lone feathers floating in an upward drift Dreaming against our realities A quiet demur, a sighful smile A whispered 'no' to inevitability

Already June. 20230603.

It seems it's taking me longer to wake up Now that it's already june I sleep to the sound of subtle raindrops That from the open window enter the room
When it's morning what do I find out? A chill has seeped into my sheets I stretch, my body dramatically arched To seize all, not an inch is missed
Least the delayed sunrise arrives To a steal a beautiful day Leaving me with the old routine From the tyrannical regime of May

Kimi no namae wa. 20221016.

"I like saying her name." "I didn't know it then but that is how I had told her. Just, nothing in the world could have heard What took me years." As if hearing this too, late, he added, "What a thing to see as a ghost." "It's amazing how a revelation can wreak havoc, How everything is revalued by an unheard sound of a word, Found late."

The paradox of ambiverts. 20230226.

There are those weirdly wired Who selectively want love You'll find them one day starved The next, in hiding from the world
Like a domesticated feline (Who wouldn't survive in the wild) They seem to get a moment on a high tide, The next on an equally mild
Because they readily fill their hearts Without reservation, from the bottom to the top, They often wait (a large enough gap) Till it's all but dried up (though they should not)
Where compassion is keyed into their survival It also comes at a fixed cost An equally long period of seclusion Until you see them again, starved, out and about

Prometheus. 20230216.

Titan rebel doubtless odd Prometheus scourged ceaselessly without Rest-you who's heart til the last edge brims Having mocked the thunderer gods on a whim
Stolen fire for a new desire To mold iron, crowned over mortal dreams Hail Prometheus - Titan higher Then all the other false kings

Human. 20230114.

The thing is we're human beings With a much bigger spectrum of what's forgivable, what's not If only we'd be a little more understanding We'd see we're not that different for the rest of us
We've had our moral shortcomings, Maybe we've even sinned We've surely hurt the ones we love As we could so has everyone else
The thing is we have weaknesses Faults that can only harm Though some of this hurt will never mend A lot can be let go with "they're only human"

Glass oceans. 20221212.

(Plain white t-shirt, shorts and an endless expanse)
Perhaps we go to the oceans sad I pick a pebble, heavy as if it had The weight of my blue world
I take the pebble to the oceans (a different blue) I drop the pebble underneath (now blue) to Die the outside reality closer to my hue, but it doesn't.
Against the loud thud of my pebble The oceans are silent, unperturbed, (what is a rebel's Claim to the old, old god of goblins)
(Next)
I claw at the sand (time) I demand every grain be still (mine) To sort, love, treasure as if silver dew
Wooed, held on the curve of a leaf A gibbous of a world made just for me Perfect.
(Enter wind, change, another tick)
Tok, the dew globe plops Many a grain filter, drop From between the crevices of innocent flesh
(Quest)
Are there more minutes in my brain Or more pieces in the sand, grains Of liquid gold, trapped in the great hourglass

Teardrop on the champagne glass rim. 20220830.

I've been a fool so many times but it's ok I'll be better, we are all allowed mistakes After all these are beautiful times
Everything comes with an expiration date It'll be years before we can accept this in our minds But much is greater as and when it has aged
We will lose before we find There are rules set already for this trade The cost of equivalent exchange
Though nothing will ever truly fade You will have lost, will have gained A teardrop on the champagne glass rim, Know tears and cheers taste the same.

Two-face mist-eyes, must we? 20220901.

Yesterday this heart More mist than a full tear Stands threatening today As if a glacier

Adhura Irada. 20210821.

Tailored memories. 20211204.

This whisper, better than the real thing a lie better than its truth for the fears of the human mind manipulate to soothe
the inevitable soft revelation - the origin falls short. A version of our own must then decisively sort
the unwanted from the wanted, the present thus twice killed broken down in parts, that new whispers may in their stead live.
Our fabricated ghosts to fill the now vacant lots, a private garden graveyard with one too many flower pots.

Our top-tens. 20210726.

Does it feel like it has been years, Can we really count time If the passing minute of a loved smile is measured In only infinities combined
Perhaps the time we spend away or together Can not be determined
We can't keep all of it forever A part is bound to be left behind Nor can we help but treasure The top tens, repeat, hit rewind
I won't mind the lost hours however So that we know where to find
Here's to save the feeling, preserved outside grey matter For when we miss again, A timestamp snapshot designed to trigger The greatest hits of a dearest friend.

False together. 20210808.

I look into your eyes but I fail, I do not see you. I see what I've made of you.
You're not the same, But everything fits As two perfectly false, identical pieces.
I turn away my gaze, I leave the two Separately true.

Ice cream cones. 20210628.

Was out looking for a dinner off the shelf Met a woman with a bag full of sugar thrills I asked if it was something personal She said it's a better company than the usual hell That she could use a crowd other than her circle I saw so many like me in her expression flicker The smile like a sticker on my bathroom mirror Having almost asked if I could join her, I answered with a smile instead, Made sure she knew she was not alone Walked out with a bag of chips and A few of my own Cornetto ice cream cones.

The left behind little else. 20210327.

It's the little things you don't see, You miss, that slip, Make you a mess and big. The little things you're used to, Make up and shape, and in a dress. The little things in a breeze, Your walk and your touch. Whatever it is that smells so good That which is all that's left When you leave.

Howl of an attention hound. 20201030.

Out looking for a name to call my own. The true image in my head to replace what I have worn.
It's clear in the mirror but not in other eyes. What you think I wear is not how I identify.
You ask about its meaning, think I am as you see But I have a definition, you hear another me.
I try to simplify the sound, it's clear in my head. What you listen come out of my mouth but, is not what I have said.
I'm split as a consequence, an absence and an accident.

Duplicate hearts. 20201118.

Luckily we have a counterpart of us Of the prerequisite of all intellect; The central core of our brilliant minds, Locked out and lost, of our modern heads.
We need it primarily When our world is much to take Alone, in absence of its company we question if we made a mistake.
In giving up this part of us We traded for our precious thoughts Which we seek often, so desperately Now in the companionship of our beloved dogs.

One egg fried rice. 20201103.

What may bring a meaning to a life, Rarely do we notice up close Before it is plainly so Coupled to define
An idle vendor on a busy street A chalk board listing eastern cuisines You're used to walk past by unseeing Till one day you pausing feet
Stop and notice. Decide To indulge the encounter's benefit Once and then in a habit Adding, a thing of significant meaning to life.

Inclined. 20201102.

The head is lift up high Feet pushed ahead another mile The ripples left behind in the wake The long shadow, the longer still image, Guide those who walk behind.

The god of jitters employed. 20201102.

I set about to tempt fate An artsy envelope, concealed in my arms Beside an immortal ready to roll the winged cube of chance.
I sit upon the old brick wall in wait Near, a billboard towers screaming, "man And his dream, held in his palm."
I share my companion's gaze. "Of the hundred ways possible" I ask, "A few must surely favor this impatient task?"
"Hush the heads, we better make haste," Amused in nervous giggle she replies, "Here I cast the dice, our culprit has arrived."

Snap. 20201122.

You walk just fine You talk just fine You eat just fine For days
You run just fine You work just fine You sleep just fine; Then it breaks.
First one thing Then two more Soon it's four In domino
A through collapse A vast emptiness A wide vacancy For a new whole.

I knew you, I can again. 20200522.

It dawned on me perhaps you have changed Since last we talked together How you may have had adorned a new skin Wore new shades of silk and leather But only for a month did this thought lay Behind a new first encounter For perhaps who I knew in her voice remained Ruffled beneath the fluttering of her new feathers

Of my dearest friend. 20200514.

The pieces I know in me, I see them in you and I understand them. Except yours conspire to be a contradiction And mine make up a desire to be different.

Humpty Dimpty named Icarus. 20200328.

Humpty Dumpty wanted to fly For Humpty Dumpty it was either do or die. All the king's horses and all the king's men Laughed and made fun of poor humpty when,
He asked his father to make for him, wings: An artisan who worked with wax in sculpturing. All the king's horses and all the king's men Gawked with mouth open when they saw Humpty again.
Humpty Dumpty now had a pair of wide wings. Though Humpty Dumpty was warned what greed could bring, Amidst all the king's horses' and loud men's cheers If Humpty were to fly too high, without fear.
Humpty Dumpty in honesty was a fool in love. Humpty Dumpty flew to touch the golden star above. All the king's horses and all the king's men sighed When Humpty Dumpty with wings burnt, fell from the sky.

Tell tale heart. 20200327.

Have you heard the whispers Often, drumming deep within Just as soon turned ghosts When paid close attention They, in their last breaths, though echo, Urging after even death, A doubt if, "What you miss the most Are the dead men in your closet!"

As imagined. 20200110.

There is beauty in not knowing things, Letting them be just as you have imagined them, Like a name of song you forgot or some lyrics you don't get just guess, Like that someone you've longed to talk to, but never did.
There is beauty in not knowing you, How you are or have been, Hope as well, perhaps I am too, Left better alone as imagined.

When you get a black eye. 20191122.

Whenever I feel like shit I put on clean bed sheets And suddenly the world is all right
For about a good moment Even if the room still needs cleaning I've bought a little more time
But you can run out of clean bed sheets And you don't see it coming until it hits You straight in the eye

A difference. 20190821.

Today was a good day, Yesterday wasn't I looked at the same sky and smiled When yesterday I hadn't. Will it always be like this? Even if the cycle never ends I hope I keep finding whatever it is That makes up for the sad difference.

I'll wait. 20190919.

I'd like the concept of un-commercialized happiness Not sold on the internet, supermarkets or luxury stores Not branded by the colorful packaging or familiar faces Something I will not get addicted to and want more and more
I would like my happiness not sold, rather found unexpectedly Perhaps on the roadside, from a flower or from a stranger Without a need to hold on to the feeling desperately Without a need to save it for later
I would like the concept of one time only happiness No recollection of it once completely lived through Without a single picture, word or song, no leftover business No successive advertisements to later prey on you
I'd like to be happy and not in the convenient way I would like it happily lost, having worked all the way with it Knowing there's no point in treasuring a little of the day If tomorrow it may rot into regretful memories

Silly woes. 20190903.

It is a spring evening, the sun has surrendered arms A little sun-light that could has stayed in living room And the bedroom; the rain is beating in a wild chorus The song is of a solitude that rids the soul of forces That crowd and bring a man down! Rejoice be uplifted Spring has, alas reborn, the winter's toll accepted It rewards with its beautiful flowers, the wet breeze will tell you so I would go see their happy faces, if I could conquer my bed of silly woes.

Never. 20190807.

I wait patiently on a steel chair Beside an old familiar window Sipping on a mug of coffee prepared To accompany the humid mood of The silver clouds: I listen to them They speak of the soon coming September I sneak in between a question if then Can I see her and hear the same whisper:

The long hours and the gap in a loop. 20190806.

It is in the gap between the long hours, you don't know what to do. There is a sure need, a desire, you can't put words to. You spend said gap in trials and errors, hoping you'd get The correct feeling required to quench an underlying fret. You try everything you like, all known recipes for happiness, You take a swing at the odd side, go with the spontaneous. Yet nothing fills the void, you're exactly at the start Where the gap began to toy with your tired heart. The indifferent clocks keep ticking, you don't feel time at all move, Until it's another beginning, of the quick long hours and the slow gap in a loop.

Save Today. 20190807.

I wake up everyday Travel hour by hour Do what it takes for a living At midnight to sleep retire But the day isn't done just yet It's doesn't rest with me then It stays up late measuring its expectations And if I haven't lived unto them It gifts me new ghosts of yesterday Set to haunt my tomorrow They walk behind me patiently preparing Reminding me I have borrowed Time, and failed to do the bidding Of what was to be done for a day An army of ghosts now stands behind me yelling To charge and all I have is today

Dull cigarettes. 20190729.

Are you waking up in the morning Working hard through the day Calling it a pleasure till the end To dull a cigarette in the ashtray
Are you keeping a sum A grand total of the smoke Inhaled to dilute emotions Before a greater threat arose
To drown you in the crowd Waking up each day Working hard and shouting, it's a pleasure To dull a cigarette in the ashtray.

Clover. 20190728.

I call a honey bee clover I met her in February She was the sweetest, a child of summer Brave against the winter breeze In love with a wild flower Bud, frail against the cruel season It was for him, sweet clover Would brave the setting sun
Each day with the morning birds She sang their breath-filled anthem Brought in her delicate swirls Blessings and enthusiasm From the pockets of the god of youth And from Aphrodite herself Most beautiful of all the summer kisses To delivered upon him her spell
I watched her for a whole season Her punctual love and care Many a friend flowers of hers Watched in bewilderment, scared But clover never once worried A day, nor the late hour the bud woke up From the depths of his lengthy slumber And at last met his luck
I had never seen a spirit more happy Then the blessed wild flower Nor a maiden as mad and blushing as the bee At any other life's hour For about a whole spring week That stood as long as a year Clover and her wild flower Had made a heaven here.

Dead firefly in a jar. 20190721.

I caught a firefly in a jar Or maybe he came to me.
A dot of light in the dark In all his subtle mystery.
I pressed his jar close to my heart And heard him lean closer, whispering,
"I'll last as long as an hour And leave you, happily giggling." ........................................................ I bought an hour long love's worth in a kiss Maybe that's what's best, short lived bliss.

Replay. 20190703.

Everyday a letter was taken over to tomorrow Words felt overthought overnight after night Ink left fresh for a fresh start un-borrowed Pieces of paper turned airplanes in flight
Everyday the morning would come On a schedule ring the same old alarms Somewhere in between would once again be gone A just as old reminder unable to perform
Yet again afternoon had rushed to save hours With short lived morning sympathized Took on the burden of the un-blamed powers No one knew, governing everyday strife
It too having lost, did pass the baton to the final night Walking shy and young hand in hand with his lover, the beautiful evening. But before the two were bold enough in love to write Big brother old Darkness took over, replayed life, smiling.

Dear Tom. 20190502.

He comes on feet as light as feathers Jumps as if through time He lands on my bed and only then I am aware He is there! to sleep and rest his mind What slumbers he there dwells in I wonder What shallow dreams he becomes a part of For unlike me, who dives deeply He returns to life with even a sound of A leaf's breath upon a distant tree Or a movement of my muscle And as soon he is up returning to his invisibility To lurk, prey, stalk, claim, love and hustle.
Today he's a lamb, tomorrow a tyger But sometimes he's just a ball of fur In his walk, his stance, his grace and his vigor Who doesn't like to cuddle, and ceaselessly purrs I know not what he tells me But it's something I must obey For sure I remember the Egyptians How his ancients against them got their way Then who am I to argue How he is getting fat For I'm sure he'll still manage His lamb and his tyger, his terror and his tact.
But poor creature tom, still has a weakness Anything that moves, he must catch And here he sympathies, believe it or not With dogs chasing tails in an endless match For that is how is he easily lured To silly man made traps That hold him helplessly hostage To kisses and nudges, where he is trapped In his worst prison, a deadly cuddle Where no hope for an escape remains Unless he betrays his lamb and his tyger with a subtle Last resort, a child's complaint.

Throwing stones. 20190404.

I think I wasn't careful when I was throwing stones at the world, For it has been a while since I've been and now I'm not quite certain, If we are the ones the stone's are surrounding or I'm the only one.

The captain announces. 20190404.

The mind is always quietly working Busy managing the machinery of its ship, Has not often the time to think of promises made Until a grave storm's about to hit.
Which makes the impatient passengers doubt The surety of their destination And if it really will be within the limits Of their decided approximation.
"To all the passenger dreams promised," The Captain announces, "We regret, it's not quite certain."

An honest goodbye. 20181002.

The indifferent sky in its pink halo, Bids the dying sun fare thee well.
The determined hunter, before his open bow Speaks death to a poor soul, whispers fare thee well.
It's not too much to ask, an honest goodbye. A quicker death saves a life some long awful years.
As a bumble bee would for a dying flower, As a mantis does for his lover.
As autumn does for her withering leaves, What nature teaches, why can't we, follow? ......................................................................................... It is convenient to ghost people, but it is best if we do it after an explanation, an honest goodbye.

Ringtone before call. 20181014.

We talk of old things, each almost a lie, Think we might understand each other's eye
We haven't seen; but surely voice has sight To imagine a soul, in thought lookalike.
I wait for any hour, any chance I can guess More of the soul dwelling beneath the human vest.
I know at worst this is temporary, if history would repeat itself And each as others but a story, loved a little less
As time chases eternity; we might as well Lose love, and have to seek affection, somewhere else.

Call ends. 20181019.

We talk of things that please the mind by entertainment Guess what may please the other's eye and birth a sentiment In our favor, so we may keep ourselves another soul a while for comfort In a lonely time, where a friendly flower turns too soon to dirt.

Almost Ghost. 20181225.

I met a flower I thought I'd never again see But the feeling still lived on Though the flower I could touch I felt if I pulled back, it'd be gone.
The next day, as I had, it was Absent from where I, her met And the feeling strengthened Then once lost, once victorious.
Now I'm never sure to trust What feeling there is When it comes to a vanishing flower I wish I could kiss.

Are you asleep? 20190520.

I watch the city blocks sleep The fruit bat's yawn end in a sigh A few trees are yet not quite But prepare to bid goodbye The stars are already high beyond reach To stay undisturbed underneath a dark sky.
But what of those who cannot sleep Within long and lonely hours Too accustomed and dependent On a comfort sourced afar I bet they need a company More than a dim lamp jar.

The second goodbye. 20170513.

Would it be the last? Rereading the nature of the first I cannot help but ask.
You see if you set aside the hurt, Love, and leave for the worse the regrets, There still remains the question To accept defeat and satisfy the past.
For it did warn us of repetition The same ending as the last But does mad hope ever listen What foolishness is that?
On second thought forget it I'm not sure if I want the answer to that. For having gone through once without one I know this heart will last.

Onward. 2016XXXX.

I think of her as I was hers And suffer the laugh of time For he is wise and knows the joke That men, foolish as I name hope.
Not once, not twice, not thrice! he knows Time and again, the same story sways Men and women, in love and in lust, dance Together and crime together —romance Is the devil’s new game.
All of this trickery, mockery, Fuckery, I do not mind. For there is someone I care for enough, Who’s love I must now go and find.

Let us, less trust. 20171113.

I have heard of a friendship That has lived for years In a world as fickle as this Without an ounce of trust.
Said to be born of circumstance For two unfitting souls on earth Legend has it, it began No different than the rest.
It would have had to survive Countless everyday struggles Come up victorious every time Or be bent by misfortune like a pebble.
I have seen many a friendships Built on strong moral principles Of mad love and unwavering trust Fade and forgotten like everyday dust.
So I wonder what it must be That could such a friendship keep Unbroken, a tiny miracle Of the human heart, weak undeniably and fickle,
To have left behind a living echo A remnant of its glory and birth But most of all an epitome for those like me Who need to learn to love without needing to trust.

"But I can't thank you!" 20171126.

There is death in all the places waiting for us And every time I've seen her I have said hello And all she did was stare through me Like I was scared and I was glad, Though I wanted her to, she hasn't said hello.
"But I can't thank you!"
She has taken from me, What I was led to believe was mine Without a word of warning, Not once in the times I saw her, walk past by And I have stopped, turned and called.
"You could have said who you were there for!"
She comes to visit, a mute thief, Unwelcome and uncaring, in daytime or in sleep And she will gift you tears, to take a few smiles And leave you staring, bereft of good times A creature not taught to be sorry, just kind.
"But what good is kindness alone?"

"Nameless here for evermore." 20181225.

Where do you come from nameless sadness To seep into my hours To fill these eye-cups, that now hurt less When they listen to this heart?
Faceless shapeless, shrouding all Today holds dear and must save, You, needing neither welcome nor call Come to comfort but enslave.
What must I do to break the pact You keep with unsettling times, Though you appear to act on peace Why then do you hide your crimes?
There is little I can to help a ghost Who has forgotten his face. You who has no memories, yet cost Me a good happy day.
Show me your face, tell me your name So I could help you and me. You mustn't linger this often each day Lest you lose importance, turn commonly.
Come now sadness take a grave Find another haunting hour For presently I must be at peace Much greater things await.

A certain awkward conversation. 20180903.

Not the best of conversations, in all our history we've had But a conversation as good, as any we could With miles put behind every word, and the time away We had, to forget each other, added to this day. The large exchange is summed, inside three hundred words, The gist of it: a new hello is, with the last goodbye merged.

Remember me. 20190202.

I am still the same flower With still the same need A few months already expired Yet the season humbly keeps That he and she may still admire My colors before they leave But if I'm lost to some deadly hour I wish they until eternity tires

Cruel sounds. 20190102.

I see the two dancing, moving slowly like stars Moving closer, singing the rhythm of chaos The rhythm of longing, moving apart.
One minute has me frozen, Without a muscle in command Though everything is broken.
Another hour I am enraged Wanting the world would pause That a peaceful moment may escape.
What the two have for me, can I tell So often am I a slave to them I am completely nothing else.
This hour, they are closing in I, chasing my own heart But what minute may turn and spin.
I against an ungodly clock Uncertain shaken waiting Wish, its music but stop.

Peak beneath a band-aid. 20190131.

Quick starts and slow deaths Who ever liked an open wound beneath a band-aid, Stacked one on top of another, newer, prettier Band-aid for band-aids.
It's not a straight road, a friendship It's an ever extending tree of paths Where if sometimes you're not too far lost There's a chance allowed to walk back.
But I'll advise you to keep walking These chances are a bane To turn good men into addicts kept searching To teach, we walk ahead but in disdain.

NYE. 20181231.

I watched the little hills dancing Quite frozen in awe I swear the sun too was in a frenzy Out early before the dawn In all the universe surely This had had to be a flaw But my head high and happily fuzzy Didn't mind any of it at all When we danced with the hills on the new year’s eve Slept with the grass as floor Blessed by the sun and its bonfire's heat Deep in the December cold Heart to heart and hand in hand each Talking of the year lost and old Old days when we were easy to reach And our world, much easier to hold.

I like you. 20181206.

Hello there, I wish I could come over and tell you this But just these words alone if I let them out, Threaten to take away my breath Dare I say I like the chance by which today I came across this encounter and saw you (As things are perhaps for the last time) I wish I could tell you how good it feels I wish it wasn't so hard for our hearts to talk a little, Say hello, I wish I could come over and tell you.

Someday somewhere surely. 20181107.

Time is not what it used to be, we are flying creatures Chasing dreams ceaselessly, manufactured by the world.
We don't get to be as close as we'd like with hearts not as big as they used to be, And there are already new inhabiting people.
But we can live without a place in our hearts, we have roots that go deeper, We can be apart, forgotten in the moment, because we have a permanent place in the past.
We are not the memories easy shadowed, in the light of brighter beginning, Not a story living in old pictures or in new music, waiting.
We are birds of a feather, children of an old tree Where we have a place to be together, free of time and circumstance, in a quiet dream.

Insecurities before call. 20180924.

I don't know you at all but for a few conversations. I don't really trust anything in principle. But it's still not hard for me to connect with people Between the two of us, we connected a little.
"New friends can often have a better time together" Yet the ones that last are old friends. We still go looking for new connections Meet new people over and over again.
I have a fear of things with little meaning. I don't understand ordinary things. Especially friendships casually disappearing, I don't take this well.
So you would understand why I was impersonal. I didn't really believe in our start. I still won't trust if it would some place take us Until we are at last a tale of old hearts.

Much is lost, love is not. 20180618.

I came upon a half of a rose, Pressed, between old pages I knew I could love it more If I could recall, its forgotten faces Pressed to such a goal I took The half to all friendly places Found upon returning, It might never be a whole, But my half of the love had grown ten-folds upon sharing.

Hey. 20180830.

There are things in my nights I cannot see Though in my days I see to much, Of which do I little can keep, Yet miss what the nights don't give up.
If I talk to you tonight Will you listen to what I have to say? It's been ages and I don't think ages Took some things away.

I will not claim, I have known love. 20180905.

I found the happiest flower Abandoned on a sidewalk Afraid it might be lost to the uncaring hour I locked her inside an old book.
It has been there for some ages, now I'm afraid I have sinned. Mistaken her hell for A heaven, she wouldn't have been in.
Were it not for the human mind With claims to know what it loves, Dead bones would be as they should be Decaying for the earth,
Not framed and trapped in an eternal scheme As a ghost of love And there would be one poor soul less, Haunted by his own curse.

The last hour before midnight demanding. 20181123.

Tomorrow will be the day for change, I am tired today I'll be the best I can be, the person who knows the way To his dreams. I will no longer count the hours Time will know he is not stronger if I have cowered. Tomorrow will be the day I will wake with the morning sun Be a start, take on the world as only a new man can. I will know the calculated end, chase it as have the other birds Go to see the whole world, as dreamt, word by word. Though I wish I had let today, live happily a last day But thinking about tomorrow, I'm tired today.

As far as friendships go. 20171003.

Yesterday I made a new friend, A tiny spider on my left hand That I'm sure found its way there quite accidently.
At first afraid, I said nothing, Kept my hand still, hoping It wasn't as afraid of me as of her I had been.
Then with courage I brought her close, Saw her more clearly and in joy rose And smiled at her instinctively like the fool I am.
Perhaps, that smile she understood Or not, but she did move a foot And I saw a mutual victory for us against
The pain of not recognizing kindness. A wider smile followed happiness, I assumed did for her too, but I knew the next
Step would be to move a little more. To take her to the garden before Of this maturing friendship she got scared again
And hurt me all the same—so I raised my hand to the leaf of The strongest tree that stood in my garden
And she walked out of my hand. I said no goodbye except a sigh and With a single tear returned back to my busy day.
Though today when I went back, The old tree where I had left her at, Was without the dear friend I had yesterday.

Do not hope. 20180531.

Maybe I've been the happiest I can be Maybe I've lost the one I can love most Maybe this doesn't bother me But isn't all this sad at all?
How casually I can keep living How casually I can always hope Look to another day, keep waiting For even better, as though there's more.
But maybe there won't be. The greatness found is really lost. Though there may be new adventures I've been to heaven, and was thrown out.

This heart. 20181002.

It is not in the busy hours It has any freedom But the lonely and in idle Time, it is most troublesome.
Half asleep otherwise It is not fully aware Which how best he is As he then cannot much care.
Only now is an ungodly hour And I unfortunate indeed; Awake, weary of sleep, my heart Is not where he wishes to be.

A bluethroat and a starling. 20181104.

In the lifetime of a year two birds come together Once in the season of winter.
I would have helplessly wondered what it must be like, To step foot in paradise, prepared to bid goodbye If I didn't already know
And would have thought the birds miserable And just as hopeless, but I know better.
I know time will run its course, We will be together, and we will be apart
And for a bird in love with another This is better than not being together at all. ........................................................................................ Migrating birds in love visiting India in the winter season.

Without despair. 20181021.

A have a guardian angel of woe Watching over me He collects my due of sorrow Pocketing it in black memory Only when I have been too happy Will then he a little share Out of his enormous collection A carefully measured handful spare So I am never lost to sadness Nor ever in happiness corrupt Living a life in measured scales Between the two, in his trust Devoid of bliss, far from infinite joy Safe from maddening grief and

It is a strange heart. 20180722.

As quick to feel, slow to birth sound A phoenix in peril, in pursuit, a bloodhound, A wolf in grief, a griffin in infinite joy A bison chasing chaos, sly fox when he is coy A broken horse in defeat, a lion with his pride A mermaid when it's free, a shark in high tide A vampire in love, an owl in the dark, A flamingo when he's lost, a penguin in the cold stark, A kitten in rebellion, in happiness a frog A bear in hibernation, in confusion a mad dog.

Fine. 20180619.

It's fine how time will change even the best of us when, We are happy with things as they are. It's fine how we are friends, but are not with each other. It's fine, because distance is not an enemy, just Circumstance: We meet only once or twice a year. It's fine, we are doing so good, but not together. It's fine, if we no longer talk for hours, we haven't lost our phone numbers. It's fine, if we know only as much as we have seen in our pictures. It's fine, if we see our memories only in other people. It's fine because we are friends still, if not as close anymore.

If you're happy and you don't know it, without this self help poem with a shitty title. 20180726.

If you're afraid of it, what's great about life is, sometimes you don't even realize you're happy. It's downright unbelievable how many times we see the people we'd rather not. This world is too fucking crowded to get away from anything, and the truth is, It's never a good feeling to be always running around. It's better to stay, high, better not wait for anything to be alright cause you might just want it too much And waiting will only make it seem that much longer, might make you anxious, make it much harder than it could've been. I personally find it simpler and less complicated to not try and force anything. I figure it out only if I must. I'll never really rely on it but I have some trust in the universe because what's great about life is, sometimes you don't even realize you're happy.

One too many lives. 20181610.

So many lives to live in a week Not enough time but we try. Not enough cigarettes to keep The world from breaking in, inside. Not enough dreams as we did, Reality takes priority, its pride. We drink, smoke, dance and dream For a moment's length of variable time. Live as many lives as we can And as we die, forget we tried.

"Just a little love." 20180713.

How we can talk for hours on hours, How we keep getting through, How which though kills so many, Can leave us but empty wounds, Though we may each time be scarred How there is never an open wound, How we are broken often apart And each time we are stronger anew Is how, though we may never together start To love each other, I know, I have loved you.

Bird and time. 20170619.

In sadness it is as if the bird has lost its love for winds, he sits near, and stays there.
In happiness it is a creature, who has never learned to land, fierce and fleeting in its flight.
And while I sit here happy, a little afraid and insecure, I ponder, missing my old friend, bird and time.
Much as I will grow weary of her, if she returned, to me in kind sadness, alone again.

Brown sparrow. 20171124.

Little brown sparrow on the tree You sing with the morning sun For the dew on the lips of flowers Destined by daylight to burn.
You sing the moonlight lovers Tired happily of loving, to sleep For some hereafter may never awake In you their moonlight's lullaby weeps.
You sing for the nocturnal lonely silence Bring him a merciful end Though he may die yet infinite deaths The daytime dwellers do not understand.
You mourn the lost providence Of god-like stars fading far away Homes of thousands of dreams diminishing Though be, in faith you pray.
Kind little creature, god of peace, There is a purple willow of which I dream By the morning hour, there we will meet For it is time you sing for me.

Not mine. 20180530.

I saw the happiest flower Hanging on a windowpane, I stood there for a while To steal some of her happiness; I thought it had worked When I was happy with her But when I left I knew, I will never be as happy again.

Wait. 20180507.

I waited for a call an hour Held my life for a day Waited for a whole year Found myself unchanged.
At a point I forget I was waiting And what in the hell really for. Today, when I'm again moving I remember you had moved on.

The call. 20180211.

I see you in your pictures every now and then. They seem to want to say so much. It's likely I couldn't hear it anyway So I don't ask, you don't say
But some people have a space in your head Reserved; you unintentionally fill up. It's where I keep these pictures whether or not we talk. They still say nothing, just want to.
Today is the 1st. I know I was to call you at the start of the day But I didn't want to be the first. That is for somebody else so I waited.
Now five hours later the morning has come, It woke me up with an expected urgency. I find you on my phone with a blank log The last call, this day last year probably.
I press call and the dial tone is nostalgic.

Not magic anymore. 20180209.

A room called Seb's, neon lit, wooden chairs and drinks to awaken sleepy taste palate, A dreamy set of fingers singing on a piano from Paris, Rose on the flat note and after, dropped low and was slower With each keystroke and the magic leaving Was beautiful in death so we didn't see it. Then it stopped with its last breath And it was gone! —since, the silence is left and a memory that is not the magic we felt.

There lives a bird. 2013XXXX.

With pearl eyes, hungry and breathless With wings metallic, heavenly and boundless Beneath this soul an eagle rests.
Though now it sleeps, the hour is close When he shall wake and, the chains that froze His ruthless heart, away he throws.
Heed the time that then shall be, Of this soul, with every feather free He shall soar for the Gods to see.

So don't look at me. 20171209.

I don't think you wanted to be a moth with wings. We were good as worms looking For our chrysalis, free of sins, Eating dreams and innocent, little things.
Until we learned of the world.
We had no need to fly, no need to win, No desire to take the one time only chance to change And lose ourselves, in the name of sacrifice and growth. Be better and worse and not just good.
Be someone else.
A moth, stern, winged, strong and understanding What she was now, and was not.

For a good excuse. 20180101.

Do you think you can experiment with life Live a different one for a year, Pick the odd pieces you're not sure fit And change them all together?
Do you think you can live a lie you desire All 'I could really' dares make true The ones you don't like, the ones impossible And the ones not made for you?
Well here's another start! A new year.

Old flower. 20160617.

Of all the beauty in this garden I know hers to be best by far Because unlike all the others She is without poison for a flower
And I'm glad I found her so early In the budding stages of our lives When there were no hidden colors To our petals or spines knife-like.
Though now we have new pigments Above the old, for the front Deemed more suitable for the world That may fade or wither with the sun,
You’ll find upon a closer look Light or not, come summer or frost Her old colors unchanged, Her heart absent frown.

Are we but bouquet roses? 20180115.

I picked a few guard petals off, of our roses hoping that'll help us to tell If there still is the old love alive in it If it still is blooming and well.
But it's a while, until we can notice If it yet remains firm rooted to the earth Or is but a display of bouquet roses Doomed and fey, but well preserved.
So I lie in the wake of their beauty All the more in nakedness, and wait Be baffled but aware of uncertainty Hope, this was cruelty, and a waste. ······················································ The florist had asked me to remove the guard pellets off, before I give the roses to you, so that's what I did.

Rose for the river, river for the rose. 20180416.

I went to the river to take a part of me, I had left with her in my dreams. I came back less than what I left with.
You can only add to her, You can't look at her without losing A little and you keep looking at her, Looking for yourself in there And never find it.
You keep looking at her All the more for it.
Nevertheless, to be one with the river Is my temptation. The river did not ask for it, Nor did she say no.

Do you hear? 20180616.

Would you want to disappear, The guarding woods have asked The reality you resent so much, To stay out of its grasp,
Behind the wall you think you know Of life other than yourself, Full of secrets, you have walked past through, Yet never felt compelled,
From the great vast halls of earth Where large and small, Strange gods have lived for years
In greatest kindness, Their many open arms, Have ever called you here, but.

Long time. 20180416.

Why, in the eyes that do not see us, We fear, we are not the same Is why the painter knows once smeared, His art has changed.
For in his masterpiece the painter, Has created nothing, But taking from himself a little, Taken another name.
He fears Time, may add or take, Change all together, His art, since turned a gift, Not his any longer.
Oh! how, he does not now know his art, He does not know you Time; Understand, and in kindness grant What of the painting remains.

Choice cowardice. 20180531.

Shut behind a broken window From a world, not mine I fear, a glance, a look That may tempt a mind, Its own hands and feet, Its own heart, to find Far from the place of its birth A curiosity for another time.

Golden and not green. 20171103.

Maybe we can't forget feelings As they are known to us Like old leaves of the trees, unfading Into the autumn dust
And when the new ones sprout With new beauty and season The golden shadow of the old, shrouds New possibilities in false reason.
As if the definitions have been With iron set in stone And the new ink keeps disappearing Leaving the old, unfinished and alone.
Now when the golden tree stands Alone in the field of snow The blessings of the green that can Save him, it doesn't even know.

Meet my ghost. 2014XXXX.

What I fear most is a ghost with three hundred tiny teeth.
This little one, always escaping the sun forever hiding beneath my shadow, invisible, veiled in darkness from all, but me.
Though when alone are him and I, out he crawls and with a sigh, whispers, "how terribly normal is your life."

The ones you'll never get. 20180130

The best people are lies you create in your head from what little you have of them, treasured, and glorified to fill the remaining pieces you'll never get.
And you love your lies, beautifully.

That thing. 2017XXXX.

that shift in her cheeks the parting of her lips that wink from her eye the sound in her sigh has the same effect as to an imperfect day would music.
weekends are great if they don't take away that sort of magic.

Split love. 2017XXXX.

Some nights I lay awake late Trying hard not to make them about you. To not pick your knife and betray a good day But what's a broken man to do?
The very knife I keep close. Under the pillow or in a pocket always; To remind and keep away at bay If what happened once happens again.
Most nights aren't the same though. Most nights are easy to get rid off, With another early start, or a tired day's reward. But my love for a night isn't all lost.
My love for nights I left with you, love To love them like I would, At nights stay awake late, when I don't, That way let them feel loved, as we could.

Fairytale knight. 2017XXXX.

A foolish boy of seventeen Who could not see all right, Because he'd learned to fill with dreams His eyes instead of light.
Never was he in any moment present, Nor read could he the motion of time. He could not see in front of him Only ahead a couple hundred miles.
The problem was in everything. On looking at the girl he liked At once envisioned he, his queen, Absent crown or kingdom by his side.
Though he could see a far future Where he had all of it for her and more, And not the simple chance before him At untold happiness absent gold.
The thing about the future is It's not one but many And even if he could find it He wouldn't see any.
But rode he the next moment To what he could see ahead, a couple hundred miles And left the girl behind him waiting To forget him with time.
The problem is a sweet emotion With which men measure a secret pride, Born of nothing but humble devotion A curse of folly, time and tide.

So what good is he to me? 20170918.

This little flower misses summer, Misses winter, misses spring. It can not remember, What was it like to watch the birds To watch the kites, under a purple sky.
What it smelled like under a tree With someone sitting beside Breathing in, the air that could remind me What it feels like, in the season Of lovers, and how to dream.

Do you? 2016XXXX.

I remember a world, When not everybody was fragile Though everything did hurt us We were up again in a while.
We didn’t care for things little like love Or hate, judgment or prejudice. We were careless and kidding Our reward was only joy.
When not every step we took Was towards a great future Or away from another friend As our hearts grew mute further.
I remember a world When I lived not for myself Nor for the next day Nor for the next year.
I lived for those around me In their joy, I found myself. If we were kids, the world surrounding Would be a happy playground, still.

It must be. 20171115.

Is it sad that it doesn't hurt as much When you can't have what you desperately want? You have given yourself and received for it But that no longer counts.
There's a different face of happiness You don't yet recognize And the old one is now called sadness. Its warmth is now felt like ice.
It hurts, it haunts, it burns, it taunts And sadly you understand. You have blamed it on the universe To save and salvage what you can.
But it's not enough, you need more pain, You need to remember and learn, For who you are, it will come again And this time this happiness must earn.

I Have. 2016XXXX.

Been staring at my phone longer than I need and have as often, stumbled upon our last memory.
I have it here before me framed for display, an edited ill ending I otherwise couldn't change.
Hoping that you'd get me through this picture portrayed, That holds the part of me, words would betray;
As I find myself wondering an already half murdered thought: If it was your turn to message and question "missed me?" and mine to reply with a "not a lot!"

Regression. 2016XXXX.

I should have plucked happiness Out from everyday Like cherry blossoms and white roses From under Eden's care, Trapped them in glass covers Just as you had said.
I should have made a habit To garden all the seeds, Chased away the hares and rabbits That harm the garden green And named each and every flower For the color of their seed,
And when the year would be done Our time together elapsed I would have proof to shoulder. Your colors of happiness, In the jar, would perhaps Warm the colder heart of regrets.
And save us from ourselves.

Those who know. 2016XXXX.

You can pick the color green and call it a dream but the truth will scream the heart will know
that which you hide.
You can keep it, still inside keep killing it with pride what now in deep resides of the heart you ignore
but it won't die.
Though for killing once, the crime or a thousand times is the same—there is a score that in, death in life, you pay for.
So be careful with your life.

On a good night. 2016XXXX.

I could sleep on the thought of you welcome what nightmare there be and wake with glory, of the morning knowing I had you, and no need of a dream.

A misspelled appology. 2016XXXX.

See I want to say, I miss you, But I know words won't bring it right, So I delay it to actions, But forget ‘bout it by midnight.
Until the undead memories, Haunt me out of busy hours When some random smiling faces With a sting remind me of ours.
But by then the long silence has strengthened And I fear to break it, for fear of breaking it all And know it to be a mistake, But I wouldn't risk another fall.
And now when even words fail me As I fail us even more. Under this endless sea of silence My voice is drowning furthermore.
But I miss you. And this need too is ever strong. What I don't really see is, The more I'm waiting, the more I'm wrong.
So let this be me reminding myself To never be as foolish hereon. Baby, past midnight, I'll tell you, How I've missed you, for so long!

This is how it's gonna be. 2014XXXX.

for you who thinks you're scary cause you can live alone. Baby let me tell you I’m worse, a creature of mad hope: So you can be the lone wolf spreading terror and awe and I’ll still be standing here were last we, each other saw.
